Kimberly Strassel Reported DOJ Placed a Mole in the 2016 Trump Campaign

Kimberly Strassel, who is a journalist for the Wall Street Journal, published an article on Thursday, May 10, 2018. The article was titled, “About That FBI Source.” Strassel reported that the Department of Justice (DOJ), which was under obligation to reveal to the House Intelligent Committee, may have evidence that there was a mole in the 2016 Donald Trump presidential campaign.

Strassel reported that the DOJ lost its last external conflict against Congress when they allowed members of the House Intelligence Committee to read classified documents. The documents focused on an intelligence source. The source was top secret. It was part of the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign.

Strassel stated the news of the FBI’s investigation holds some superb allegations. Regardless of the fact that the source currently remains unanimous. The FBI and the DOJ have hidden critical information from a Congressional investigation.

She made reference to Paul Ryan’s press conference that was held after the data was released on Thursday, May 10. Ryan is the United States Congressional Speaker of the House. He clearly noted that Devin Nunes’, who is the U.S. Intelligence Chairman, request for information of the confidential source was very appropriate.

Ryan said that it was absolutely within the category of the Committee’s long-lasting FBI investigation against the leader of the free world. It was a matter that should have been answered a long time ago.

Strassel reported that Ryan’s statement translates to the concept that the DOJ deliberately hid the classified documents. However, they knew that last year they should have turned the information over the Congressional investigators.

She stated that the U.S. public knows that Nunes requested that an intelligent source, who is top secret, was involved in the Russia collusion probe. The source is a U.S. citizen, and is related to the FBI and the CIA.

The unnamed law enforcement leaders worked for the Washington Post. She further said that there is a lot of details that the FBI has to explain.

The Daily Caller reported that James Comey, who is the former director of the FBI, chose ABC as the initial media outlet to interview him. Comey was fired by Trump last year as the FBI director.

Strassel shared her own questions for Comey on Twitter Monday, May 7. She stated that George Stephanopoulos should ask the disgraced bureaucrat specific questions. However, she said that she will not ask them.

Some of the journalist’s questions were:

  • Does the FBI view a source like Christopher Steele, who is the source of the Russian Dossier scandal, as credible?
  • Does the fact that Steele was working for politicians in an election year not concern you?
  • Did you know that Steele had been hired by Fusion GPS?
  • Did the FBI do any diligent investigation on Fusion?
  • Did they discover its long record of being hired to disgrace the reputation of political foes on behalf of their clients?
  • If not, why not?

Strassel reported, in her groundbreaking article, in the Wall Street Journal that the DOJ lost their largest legal fight with Congress on Thursday, May 10. They agreed to brief members of the House Intelligence Committee about a source that has top-secret intelligence. Also, the source was a part of the FBI investigation of the Trump campaign in 2016.
