Perkins
Darius Perkins, who was the original actor to play Scott Robinson on the ‘Neighbours’ soap opera has died from Cancer at 54 years of age according to a report in ‘The Herald Sun.’

‘The Herald Sun’ reports that Perkins died on January 2.

Neighbours first hit the air in 1985. Perkins played the character of Scott Robinson when it debuted, and he left the soap after eight months. Jason Donovan replaced him and he had multiple storylines. One of the most popular was the one that dealt with the relationship he had with Kylie Minogue’s character Charlene Mitchell.

David Clencie who played Danny Ramsay on the soap stated that he was very sad and completely devastated for losing my best mate. He had an incredibly strong bond. To the end, we were best mates.

In 2013 Perkins returned to the Australian soap opera. The show did not kill off his character and left the opportunity for him to return in the character of Scott. However, when Perkins returned he did not play Scott but a character named Marty Kranic, who was the shifty associate of Stefan Dennis’ character Paul Robinson.

The first time around Perkin’s played the brother of Dennis’ character. The fans loved the pair working again together.

Perkins stated in 2013 that he had a great time playing somebody bad because Scott was so nice. The writers did a fantastic job creating the Marty character by showing his other side.

Perkins appeared in many Australian shows including ‘A Country Practice’, ‘The Sullivans’ and ‘Home and Away.’ He also portrayed the character of Charlie in the show ‘All The Green Years’ and had guest spots in ‘A Country Practice’ and ‘Prisoner.’

In 1984 Perkins won the Logie Award for Best Juvenile Performance in ‘All The Rivers Run.’
