BaierMika Brzezinski on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ broke into their regularly scheduled newscast on Jan. 22, 2019 to inform the viewers that the family of Bret Baier, the anchor and executive editor of the Fox News show “Special Report” were involved in a major car crash on Jan. 21 in Montana.  She wished the family and Baier well.

The 48-year-old Baier issued a statement saying his wife and two sons went skiing over the weekend in Montana and were driving to the airport. The roads were icy in Montana, they were involved in a car crash, and their car flipped over. A passerby named Zach stopped to help and helped the family out of the flipped car. Montana Highway Patrol and first responders helped the family get to the hospital.

Baier added he thanks everybody who helped his family. He advised everybody to wear their seatbelt and to give thanks every day.

Baier also tweeted on Twitter that one’s family is the most essential thing in the world. It is always important that family is remembered as they can easily be taken away.

Baier was scheduled to appear on the Stephen Colbert late-night talk show on Jan. 22. Colbert told the media that the ‘jaws of life’ were needed to get Baier’s family out of the car. He added that they were all hospitalized but will do fine and he hoped they were doing better.

Bair married his wife Amy in October 2004, and they have two sons 8-year-old Daniel and 11-year-old Paul. The family was released from the hospital late Monday night and are recuperating from their injuries.
