Gil Sharone who for five years has been the drummer for the shock-rock musician Marilyn Manson has quit the band.
Sharon was featured on the album “The Pale Emperor” released in 2015 and “Heaven Upside Down” released in 2017.
The drummer announced on his Gil Sharone Official Facebook page. He said in the post that it had been an amazing five years playing drums in the band for Marilyn Manson, and at this time I have decided to depart from the group.
He continued by saying playing for Manson has been a highlight of his career, but it is now the time to pursue other future and current projects.
He sent love to Marilyn Manson, all the other musicians he played with and all the fans who supported him. He added the entire experience was a blast.
Even though Sharone since 2014 toured and recorded with Manson, he worked for other groups. Sharone played for the band Team Sleep which included Chino Moreno from the Deftones. He also was in the supergroup Saudade which Moreno also played for with members from Bad Brains, Medeski, Martin & Wood and Crosses.
Sharone quitting the band comes after Manson announced he was in the studio finishing his eleventh album. It is unknown if Sharon played on the record.
