On Jan. 21 Reese Jr. and his sister who was 12 years old went home after school. Their mother was working out of town and stepfather was driving home from work.
The boy’s sister called her mother frantic. She was screaming and could not be understood. She just said her brother’s name over and over again.
Reese Jr. hung himself. The sister was told to cut the boy down and call 911 while staying on the phone with her mother.
The boy’s school district said that there was never any reports of bullying.
However, Reese Jr.’s mother did contact the school who left a message on her voicemail saying they looked into an incident where another boy at the school punched the child. The official said the aggressor denied fighting with Reese Jr.
A spokesperson for the school district said that the individual who sent Smith the voicemail had been re-assigned to another position.
