The NYPD is investigating Kristaps Porzingis, former New York Knicks basketball player after a woman has alleged that he raped her.
The woman claims on Feb. 7, 2018, 23-year-old Porzingis invited her to his penthouse in Manhattan, hours after in a game at Madison Square Garden when he was playing against the Bucks he tore his ACL. While there she alleges he held her down against her will and raped her.
She alleges Porzingis hit her face multiple times, called her “my slave,” and “by b**ch.” When also told the victim he owned her. The accuser claimed Porzingis stopped with the assault when she fought back.
The New York Post says the alleged victim, a woman in her 20’s lived in the same apartment building as Porzingis. The woman reported her alleged rape to the police on March 28, 2019. The newspaper claims the cops find her to be credible.
It is reported the victim told police she was promised $68,000 from Porzingis to remain silent. The money was to be used to help pay college tuition for her brother. Porzingis never paid the money, which is why she waited so long to report the alleged rape.
In February, the Knicks traded Porzingis to the Mavericks. Mark Cuban, Mavericks owner told TMZ federal authorities had told him and the team not to comment on the allegations of rape, as the investigation was ongoing.
