Country music megastar Garth Brooks has broken the record set in 2011 by U2 by the most tickets sold at Broncos Stadium at Mile High.

Tickets went on sale for Brooks’ concert on April 5, 2019, for the show in June. Over 79,000 tickets immediately sold in less than two hours.

U2 who held the record prior to Brooks sold 77,000 tickets.

As of Friday afternoon, single tickets were still available.

The concert is part of the upcoming Garth Brooks Stadium Tour, which will be stopping at Minneapolis, Gainsville, Florida, Denver, and Pittsburgh.

Brooks is one of the most successful country music artists of all time and one of the best selling across all genre’s of music.

He has been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Musicians Hall of Fame, and the International Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Brooks also announced he would be putting on a free show for University of Florida students on April 15. He will also take a Q&A from the students.

Faculty and staff will be able to buy tickets which are specially priced. All the proceeds from those tickets sold will be donated to the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars program from the University of Florida. The program helps students of lower-income students.
