Osuna
Jaime Osuna, a convicted murderer in California, was arraigned on April 26, 2019, on a new murder charge.

It is alleged Osuna killed his cellmate in March at Corcoran State Prison, in a very horrible fashion.

Phil Esbenshade, the Kings County Assistant District Attorney, stated that this case is probably the most gruesome and unusual he had ever seen in his career.

It is alleged Osuna decapitated his cellmate, Luis Romero. Osuno proceeded to sever his body parts including a finger and eye. It is also claimed he chopped out part of the lung of Romero.

Romeo subsequently bled to death, and staff found him in the morning during a security check.

Esbenshade stated that they found a weapon in the cell. It looked as it was manufactured from a razor which was officially issued. The weapon had a string wrapped around it and was the only weapon they found.

The prosecutors filed this week four new felony charges against Osuna. They included mayhem, torture, and murder with special allegations. Since Osuna was already found guilty of murder, he could get the death penalty.

In 2011, Osuna tortured and killed a woman from Bakersfield.

Esbenshade said Osuna would be prosecuted on these charges and it will go to a jury. There is no plan to offer a plea bargain or deal.

Osuna also has been charged earlier in 2019 with gassing. Prosecutors allege to have thrown blood from a carton at an officer at the prison.

Osuna is scheduled in to appear in court for a preliminary hearing in June 2019.
