MadonnaSixty-year-old Madonna, whose latest two singles “Medellín” and “I Raise” have flopped, has been in the music business since the ’80s. There are many celebrities who loathe the pop star. Here are some examples:

Cher

In a 1991 interview, Cher discussed Madonna. When the interviewer asked the singer is she goes jogging like the Material Girl, Cher said: “Do you mean my very best friend Madonna?” The interview continued by saying that he asked that question in order to drag Madonna into the conversation. Cher responded, “how about we drag her in by her hair?”

She continued by saying that when she first started, she did the same thing she does, however, Madonna does it better. She is very creative but not very talented. She is not beautiful, and rather rude.

Cher said she does not have anything against the pop star and respects that she goes pushes the envelope more than anybody should.

David Letterman

Madonna

In 1994, Madonna sat down for an interview with David Letterman. During the appearance, she was so crass and obnoxious, the talk show host was speechless. Madonna dropped double entendres and multiple F-bombs. The pop star gave Letterman her underwear and would not exit the stage after her segment was over.

Madonna claimed that she acted this way to protest against censorship on television.

Arsenio Hall

In 1990, Madonna sat down with Arsenio Hall on the “Arsenio Hall Show” to promote her movie “Dick Tracy.”

She started to make Hall uncomfortable by discussing Paula Abdul, his ex-girlfriend, and her rumored relationship with John Stamos. She said to Hall “Does John Stamos make you jealous? Tell me how does it feel to have been dumped for Stamos?”

Hall tried to play it off by saying “There was a rumor going around that I was dating Paula Abdul. Paula went to the Grammys with Stamos because I was busy and could not go.”

Madonna would not let it go and said that Abdul wanted a man who would be home more often.

Madonna continued to say the style of Hall’s hair was “tired” and suggested he and Eddie Murphy were more than just friends.

Sandra Bernhard

Madonna

In the ’90s, in public, it appeared that Bernard and Madonna were best friends. Madonna even eluded, despite never admitting that she was LGBT to be dating the comedian.

The two never revealed what happened to their relationship, but something happened. Bernhard has said that even though she respects Madonna as an artist, she does not like her as a person.

Bernard said in an interview with Dot429 that she tries to keep the friends she has her entire life, but she feels differently about Madonna. When asked about Madonna’s boyfriends who are much younger than her, Bernard responded that she was not sure how involved she is with her young boyfriends, as she already has four children at home.

Mariah Carey

In 1996 Madonna said in an interview with Spin Magazine that she did not consider Mariah Carey’s music art and if she had to sing her songs, she would kill herself.

MTV News asked Carey about the comments Madonna made she responded: “I have not paid any attention to Madonna since she was popular when I was in the seventh or eighth grade, so I did not hear what she said.”

Deadmau5

Madonna

Deadmau5 had an issue in 2012 when she was at the Ultra Music Festival and comments she made pertaining to drugs.

When she introduced Avicii, Madonna shouted at the crowd “How many of you have seen Molly?” (“Molly is the slang word for the drug MDMA. Madonna also called her album MDNA.)

Deadmau5 tweeted: “It was very classy Madonna. What a great message to give young people who are at Ultra wanting to listen to music. You are such the f’n philanthropist. But at least you are trendy and Hip! You f**king cannot smack me in my head hard enough.

I can appreciate the meteoric career and all the good deeds she has done, but WHAT THE F**K WAS THAT SHE DID? That was Madonna’s contribution to EDM? That was the big message Madonna wanted to give to Ultra fans? Talking about looking for drugs? You are a f**king IDIOT. f**k off.”

Madonna did not respond to the comments but in 2015 she gave him a hug awkwardly at the launch of Tidal.

Lady Gaga

Madonna

The feud started when Madonna said Gaga’s music was “reductive” and “Born This Way” was a rip off of her song. Madonna performed a mash-up of “Born This Way” and “Express Yourself,” to show people they were similar.

In 2016, Gaga said in an interview that she was different from Madonna. She does not disrespect Madonna, but she plays several instruments, writes all her music, spends hours daily in the studio, produces and writes. She is different and she does not just rehearse for a show but is spontaneous.

She continued by saying she permits herself to fail or break and is not fearful of her flaws. She does not want to be compared to anyone because she is who she is.

In 2019, the two appeared to make-up after Gaga won her Oscar in 2019 and the two were photographed together.

Prince

Madonna

Madonna caused a stir when she tributed at the Billboard Music Awards in 2016 Prince when her accessories were drug-themed, including her purse which said “Dealer” on it. Also because they had a checkered past.

In 1994 Madonna said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that she had dinner once with Prince. All he did was daintily sip tea when she was shoveling in food. She asked if he was going to eat. She said people who do not eat annoys her. She also continued by saying that those types of people want to be in control.

Madonna briefly dated Prince in 1985. Rolling Stone Magazine said that she referred to him as a little troll.

Prince said while he was performing in 2007 that he had more hits than Madonna has kids.

Rolling Stone said that the two ended their feud in 2011 after Prince invited her to his Madison Square Garden concert.

Anna Fantastic, the ex-girlfriend of Prince told TMZ after his death that he would not appear with Madonna in the video for their duet “Love Song.”

Janet Jackson

Madonna

Janet Jackson’s issues with Madonna started in the ’90s when she tried to date her brother, Michael.

In his book “You Are Not Alone: Michael: Through a Brother’s Eyes” written by Jermaine Jackson, he wrote that he felt Madonna really adored Michae, but he did not feel the same way. She did two things wrong.

The first was she wanted to loosen the King of Pop up and have him see life the way she saw it.

The second was when the two were having dinner together, Madonna criticized Janet. Jemaine said that family always came first to Michael, and he was furious, at Madonna. They never dated again after the incident.

In a 1994 interview with Vibe, Janet said that she feels ‘hate’ is too strong of a word. However, if she did hate Madonna, her reasons would be valid.

After the interview, Madonna said in an interview with Kurt Loder, that she does not know why Janet insulted her. She never met Janet and they do not know the same people.

In January 2012, Madonna said while she was doing a press tour for the Super Bowl halftime show, Madonna brought up Janet’s “Nipplegate.” She said that somebody should not have to show their nipple to be interesting. It does not mean that if they do is cutting edge.

Elton John

Madonna

The feud between Sir Elton John and Madonna lasted over a decade.

In November 2002, John said, “Die Another Day” which was sung by Madonna was the worst James Bond song ever. He also slammed the singer when she was nominated at the Q Awards for the best live act. John said while onstage “When has lip-syncing been considered live? Any performer who lip-syncs during a performance when somebody pays 75 pounds to see them sing should be shot.”

It was reported, Madonna returned John’s Christmas cards and declined his invitation for her to sing at his bachelor party.

In January 2012, John and David Furnish his husband, slammed the Material Girl in public when the pop star’s song “Masterpiece” from the movie “W.E.” beat the contributions John made to the film “Gnomeo and Juliet.”

He said in an interview in July with Australian television “Why is Madonna such a nightmare? I am sorry that her career is over. Her latest tour was a disaster, and it could not have happened to a bigger b***h, who looks like she is a f**king fairground stripper.”

In 2016 in an interview on “The Graham Norton Show” that he made up with Madonna. He said that he was in a restaurant in France and Madonna walked in. He had a note sent to her saying that she probably would not want to speak to him, but he wanted her to know he was ashamed and sorry and asked if he could pay for her dinner.

John said she accepted and they talked, and everything is now fine.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Madonna

Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow were best friends until 2008 when Madonna and Guy Ritchie got divorced. Sources say that the women had less in common and drifted apart.

Paltrow said in an interview with Vogue that she was having a situation with a friend and she was angry. However, she does not believe in revenge.

Paltrow later mentioned Tracy Anderson, her personal trainer. She said it is a good thing that Anderson no longer works with Madonna because she always keeps you waiting because your entire day will be taken up.

An informant told Us Weekly that the feud started when Madonna would say horrible things about Paltrow and would not stop. The source continued that after Paltrow ended their friendship, Madonna felt she was abandoned by Paltrow, and now Madonna wants revenge and to make her suffer.
