A judge decided on May 20, 2019, that Emani Asghedom, the 10-year-old daughter of the late rapper Nipsey Hussle and Tanisha Foster, better known as Tanisha Asghedom, will remain with his sister Samantha Smith.
Emani has been living with Smith since the rapper died on March 31, 2019, from gunshot wounds he sustained outside of his clothing store.
Hussle’s family believed Asghedom could not properly take care of Emani and were present in court.
The records from the hearing were immediately sealed, and another court date was scheduled for July.
Larry Lewellyn, Asghedom’s lawyer, told TMZ that he is in discussion with the family of Hussle to work out a visitation schedule for his client and her daughter.
A source said Asghedom left the courthouse after the decision crying and extremely angry.
Last week, while in court Asghedom started crying saying she had not seen Emani since Hussle died.
It appears that the reason why Hussle’s family was awarded custody may be because Ashgedom has a long arrest record from 2006 to 2007.
An arrest warrant was recently put out for Hussle’s baby mama’s arrest related to a 2017 case for a DUI which has not been settled.
