I have written multiple times about two of the darkest days in American history: the attempted coup on January 6, 2021, and the attack on women’s rights on June 24, 2022. Today I have an opportunity to write about one of the greatest days in history, March 30, 2023. On this day a devastating blow for fascism resulted in a victory for democracy. For the first time in history a former United States President was indicted for a few of his many crimes.
“Lock Him Up, Lock Him Up”
Yesterday Donald John Trump was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury for more than 30 counts related to business fraud.
If you are an informed American, and vetted Trump prior to the 2016 election, you would know that Trump is a career criminal. His crimes range from falsifying a medical condition to evade serving in the Vietnam War, to treason. Every day he defiled the White House he violated both the Constitution and the Emoluments Clause.
He Must Be Fairly Punished
The question now becomes, “will he be fairly punished for his crimes.” Not once in our nation’s history has a former or current politician been adequately punished for his crimes. Upon hearing about the charges, Trump responded in his usual manner with bullshit and false attacks on his accusers.
“Political Persecution and Election Interference at the Highest Level in History.”
“I believe this Witch-Hunt will backfire massively on Joe Biden,” the former president said. “The American people realize exactly what the Radical Left Democrats are doing here. Everyone can see it. So our Movement, and our Party – united and strong – will first defeat Alvin Bragg, and then we will defeat Joe Biden, and we are going to throw every last one of these Crooked Democrats out of office so we can MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Trump Spent Four Years Attempting to Destroy America
Trump spent four years making America worse for those who love their country. History will reveal the truth. Donald John Trump is the worst thing to happen to the United States in its nearly 247 year history. We have had some terrible presidents, but Trump is by far the worst.
On the rare days he was in the White House, not golfing, partying at Mar-a-Lago, or holding his infamous hate rallies, he lied to the American people, divided our nation, and attempted to destroy democracy and replace it with a fascist regime. He and Vladimir Putin had a plan which failed. It failed because Trump lacks sufficient intelligence to accomplish Putin’s goals.
Never Forget His Failures During the Pandemic
One crime he will never be punished for occurred at the very beginning of his last year in office. His arrogance prevented him from leading the fight against Covid-19. This resulted in more than one-million deaths in the United States, many of which were preventable if he had performed his one responsibility, to keep the American people safe from harm.
I admit that for me, this dream has come true. To see the orange man in an orange jumpsuit will give me great joy. He has harmed my country for far too long.
