Gibran Nicholas recently announced his 2024 Presidential candidacy. He is a moderate running as a Democrat to unseat President Joe Biden. The 43-year-old Georgia entrepreneur declared: “It’s time for a new beginning in America.” However, he stressed a new start should be “based on what’s important to the new generation, not the values that people held 80 years ago” and not two and a half centuries ago. “Thomas Jefferson once said that the Earth belongs to the living generation,” he added.
He launched his campaign with an hour-long video introducing his policy ideas. Additionally, Nicholas posted an 82-page letter: “To My Fellow Americans.” It contains his picture of the country’s future. His values reflect a moderate perspective which is desperately needed in America today. “We just want to live our lives and have safe schools for our kids.”
Nicholas’ plan includes three major challenges the next president must overcome with in-depth proactive strategies.
- Resolve and move past America’s culture wars.
- Modernize the financial structure of the nation’s economy, tax code, and federal budget.
- Update the country’s foreign policy and its place in the international community.
“Right now, we seem to have minority rule in our country.” Extremists on the right and the left are the minority, yet they dominate the political narrative. Nicholas further explained that most Americans hold moderate political ideas but are not heard due to radical extremists’ noise. However, Democratic governments support the majority of their citizens.
Gibron Nicholas Interview

Nicholas discussed his campaign goals and explained his position on the nation’s political health during his interview with GLV.
Despite never holding public office, this Georgia entrepreneur clearly understands the roles of the state and federal governments. Nicolas explained that his letter to America outlined several national goals requiring state legislation before they could be implemented federally.
These law changes would include instituting ranked-choice elections, an effective gun safety initiative, mental health, and immigration reform. He proposed a unique idea for ensuring all eligible voters cast ballots in national elections — a penalty collected by the IRS.
However, his plan would make it easier to vote. Nicholas proposes expanding the time to cast ballots to three to four weeks.
Gun Safety – Crime – Criminal Justice

First, Nicolas believes that gun safety regulation is essential. Moreover, it is vital to millions of parents. He said more Americans want sensible gun laws than those who do not. The candidate also supports safety training and registration for those purchasing a gun. “We have so many mass shootings that it is affecting Americans’ mental health.”
The presidential hopeful thinks the Second Amendment needs to be updated to reflect 2023. Nicholas explained the amendment was authored 250 years ago when each state had its own militia. His proposed language:
American citizens shall have the right to keep and bear arms, and Congress shall make laws regulating the use and licensing of such arms to ensure the safety of the American people.
Once the amendment passes, Congress could craft minimum national gun safety standards. Afterward, states can create stronger regulations beyond federal laws.
