Escaped chimpanzees in Las Vegas: Stay inside

By Kyra Hall

Chimpanzees are man’s closest cousin and can also be extremely dangerous. Two chimpanzees have escaped an enclosure in North Las Vegas and are currently running rampant on Ann Road near Jones Boulevard. Las Vegas Metro is on the scene trying to recapture the chimps. Metro has advised all motorists and residents in the area to stay indoors. They are trying to bring down the chimps with tranquilizers and get the situation contained before the chimps hurt themselves or anyone else. In addition to keeping themselves indoors, pet owners should keep their animals inside as much as possible.

It might be speculated that they escaped from the small zoo, which has previously been shown to have poor conditions both for the health and safe containment of the animals housed there. No reports can confirm this yet.
