While Amanda Bynes and her mental issues have been overshadowed by the rise of Miley Cyrus in the pop world, it has been reported by thehollywoodgossip.com that the actress has been officially diagnosed with a combination of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
This official diagnosis was reported from professionals at the first medical facility that Amanda was being treated in when she was initially placed on the 5150 hold. The 23 year-old actress had been treated at the UCLA Medical Center but was later moved to a rehabilitative center in Malibu, California.
According to a medical blog, cited below, Experts from UCLA have said that the schizophrenia was also known as schizoaffective disorder. The Mayo Clinic’s website says that sufferers of the schizoaffective disorder, which is less defined than other mental issues, can be treated successfully with the proper rehabilitation and medication.
Schizoaffective disorder has been identified as a mental illness which has symptoms that are more difficult to treat and that this can differ from person to person. But it has been reported that Amanda is responding well to treatment at the Malibu facility and that doctors are changing her medication as required.
But the good news is that the former Nickelodeon star can live a healthy and fairly normal life if she “proactively” treats her condition. Amanda Bynes’ new diagnosis of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia may complicate matters somewhat, but the reports from insiders are all very positive in nature.
Amanda’s family have released several statements about their daughter’s illness and her reaction to the treatment. Her mother has pleaded for more privacy for Amanda as speculation is rife on her actual condition and her medications.
Sources have said that the doctors at the facility in Malibu are monitoring and changing Bynes’ medication in an effort to get it right.
Lynn Bynes, Amanda’s mother released a formal statement through Tamar Arminak, their personal attorney, that Amanda is being treated outside Los Angeles in a private facility. The doctors at the hospital are treating the former child star based on the UCLA Medical facility’s diagnosis.
It has been reported that the rehab center specialises in “dual diagnosis” of mental illnesses. Amanda’s mother, who was granted temporary conservatorship over her daughter, has said that all reports of her medical condition, treatment, and responses to them are 99 percent false. She has also said that if the reports do not originate from family or their representatives, the information is not true and based only on speculation.
Bynes’ mother Lynn revealed that the family appreciates the genuine support from Amanda’s fans and that they hope that their request for privacy is granted. Mrs Bynes has also said that they both love their daughter and feel like she is going to get over this difficult time in her life.
While the news of Amanda Bynes’ new dual diagnosis of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia has not been officially released from her family, it does sound like she is responding well to treatment. Sources have said that Amanda’s health really is getting better. We hope that the stories about her recovery are correct, for Amanda’s sake.
