One of the stars from the hit TLC reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has been arrested for vandalism. The incident reportedly occurred last month, although the man was only taken into custody early Monday afternoon.
The accused is the brother of show patriarch Mike Thompson, a man nicknamed Uncle Poodle (real name Lee Thompson.) Thompson was seen allegedly vandalising the car of his ex-boyfriend, although the situation is said to not contain the Honey Boo Boo star himself, but also three other people who were all at one point romantically linked. Georgia authorities have given the statement to popular gossip website TMZ that Thompson ripped of a University of Georgia tag from said ex’s car, while it was located in a Wal-Mart parking lot. He is said to have been assisted in the vandalism by his new fiance, to which he got engaged to just last month. The ex boyfriend who was the subject of said vandalism was reportedly with his new partner at the time of the crime, and told authorities that they both witnessed the Honey Boo Boo star and his fiance flee the scene via car following the breaking of the tag. The four have a communal romantic link between them in that the reality television personality’s fiance used to be involved with the owner of the car the pair of them are said to have vandalised. Upon being taken to the Baldwin County police station, Thompson was charged with the crime of trespassing and proceeded to be held on a bail amount of $1000. His hearing was scheduled to take place on Monday afternoon, and as far as recent reports have stated he is still being held in custody, following the fact that no family or friends came to post his bail following his arrest.
The Honey Boo Boo family has been receiving their fair share of media attention in the last month, even though the most recent season wrapped up some time ago. This is due to the recent split between the show’s matriarch Mama June and the show’s father figure Mike Thompson, who famously broke up over allegations that the dad was looking for alternate romantic company via popular internet dating website PlentyOfFish. The breakup reportedly caused something of a panic among the show’s producers, who were unsure how to handle the situation in terms of whether they should factor the split into the show’s final two seasons, which still have yet to be filmed. Network executives have reportedly settled on the idea that while the parent’s separation will be part of the future Honey Boo Boo storyline, it will not have such a concrete presence that it throws the show’s family values premise completely off-balance. The father remains adamant that the infidelity rumors are simply untrue, although he mostly remains completely mum regarding the matter when asked to give further details.
It remains to be seen what will become of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star Lee Thompson’s recent arrest for vandalism, and if he will serve any time for the aforementioned charge of vandalism. Further details surrounding the matter have yet to be revealed.
