Simon Pegg Is Well-Respected Among His Peers

Simon Pegg is a film actor whose long-term presence in the industry as well as his varied roles have made him a well-respected actor among his peers and greatly admired by his fans. Since the release of 24 Hour Party People in 2002, Pegg has been in 25 different films. In 2015, the actor is in five different movies, some of which have yet to be released. He graduated in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in theater, film, and television.

On Valentine’s Day in 1970, Simon John Beckingham was born in England. According to Empire Magazine, his name was changed to Pegg after his parents divorced when he was seven. When his mother remarried, he took his stepfather’s name. The magazine article also said, “the Peggster ” has a better ring to it than “the Beckinghamster.” Peggster is the name of the star’s official website.

After the actor graduated from the University of Bristol, he moved to London, where he started his career as a stand-up comedian. In 1995, he was in Six Pairs of Pants,” which was a British television program. According to British Comedy Guide, it featured a troupe of actors doing regular sketches. The description of the program is vaguely similar to the program in the United States called Saturday Night Live.

The star and Jessica Hynes were in Six Pairs of Pants together, which lead to another collaboration between them called Spaced. Hynes and the comedian both wrote and starred in the 1999 cult sitcom. His breakthrough film was Shaun of the Dead, which was released in 2002. The comedian and director Edgar Wright co-wrote the comedic movie. Simon Pegg’s beginning stardom is an indication of his eventual position in the industry and a well-respected film actor.

  • He frequently works with his best friend Nick Frost and director Edgar Wright, and

In 2015, the actor performed in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Man Up, Kill Me Three Times, and Absolutely Anything. The first movie will be released in December 2015.

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation was released in July 2015. In the film, Pegg co-stars with Tom Cruise as agents working together. According to Wired, Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt, is a super agent, whereas Pegg’s character, Benji Dunn, is a just a regular agent.

Man Up was released on May 29, 2015; it is a comedy about dating. In Kill Me Three Times, the actor finds himself playing a professional hitman in three stories of murder, blackmail, and revenge. The movie is classified an action/thriller and was released in April 2015.

Absolutely Anything is a comedy/sci-fi scheduled to be released in the U.K. on Aug. 14, 2015. In this movie, the comedian is teamed up with Robin Williams and John Cleese among others. The plot is about off-beat extraterrestrials and a human. The aliens have bestowed upon him the ability to do absolutely anything as an experiment.There is no information about the film being released in the U.S.

Star Trek Beyond is scheduled for U.S. release on July 8, 2016. While there is no listing for a plot as yet, the actor returns as Young Scottie. Time-travel was a pivotal part of the previous Star Trek movie, Star Trek Into Darkness, in which Young Scottie was being coached by the Older Scottie about the inventions the younger had not yet begun to invent. Whether he is in a comedy, drama, or sci-fi, Pegg is admired by his fans and well-respected by his peers.
