Domestic Violence Call Leads to Standoff

By Isabelle Guzman

Police were present on the scene where a man, later identified as Jonathan Brandon, was suspected to have barricaded himself in his residence in Cypress Springs apartment complex in the northwest end of Las Vegas, around 7 a.m. on Thursday April 26th. The event forced the closure of Rancho Drive from Jones Boulevard to Gowan
Road. What started as a “keep the peace” call in regard to a domestic violence situation rapidly turned into a standoff according to our source.
After a few hours, the authorities present made their way into the apartment only to discover that no one was in there. It was hours later that they arrested the suspect. Brandon faces several charges including assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence.
