Teens Held in $6,000 Check Scam

Three Pahrump teens are being held for alleged robbery and check cashing scam targeting an elderly man.

Nye County deputies said Vincent Scarpati, 19; Jessica Parker, 18; Alana Murphy, 19; and Jennifer Parker, 18, were captured on surveillance camera stealing the man’s checks, forging them, and then cashing them. The total amount according to police exceeded of $6,000.

Scarpati, Murphy, and Jessica Parker are in custody, with bail amounts ranging from $50,000 to $105,000.  Jennifer Parker is believed to reside out of state, and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.

Other charges against the teens include burglary, petit larceny, conspiracy, identity theft, and exploiting an elderly or vulnerable person.  The Nye County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the community’s help in locating the fourth suspect.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Nye County Sheriff’s Office at 775-751-7000 or send an email to [email protected].
