Amidst a treasure trove of rumors, NBC’s top programming exec, Bob Greenblatt indicated that Dan Harmon will no longer function as the executive producer of “Community.” No one has really come out to say that Harmon was fired. However, a number of sources are reporting that David Guarascio and Moese Port, “Happy Endings” consultants, will produce the show for its upcoming forth season.
Speculation had been swirling over the last week questioning if Harmon would remain “Community’s” showrunner (executive producer), especially since his spats with Chevy Chase had become public. Chase blasted the show in March in voice mail that was leaked to the press. The message blasts the show as being mediocre and unworthy of Chase’s time. He also told the Huffington Post that he “probably won’t be around much longer,” suggesting that he might leave the show.
It is somewhat clear that NBC chose to placate Chase over Harmon. Harmon has claimed that David Guarascio never even notified him of the decision to replace him. All of this comes after NBC announced that it had decided to order 13 episodes for season four.
