Disco queen Donna Summer “who worked hard for the money” passed away this morning after battling with cancer at the age of 63.
The “last dance” singer was working on an album at the time of her death. The “bad girls” singer had lived with cancer for number of years but never revealed her condition publically.
Born LaDonna Adrian Gaines on December 31, 1948, she gained prominence during the Disco era in 1970. She won the Grammy five times. Summer was the first artist to have three consecutive double albums in the US Billboard charts and four singles in US charts within the space of 13 months.
Summer died in Florida this morning.
