Lady Gaga on cover of Vogue and releases perfume Fame

By Amanda Shore

While touring in Asia, Lady Gaga found out that photos of her new perfume, Fame, had been leaked. She tweeted in response, “Looks like photos of my perfume are being leaked. Oh you fashion editors I could just crinkle my hands at you!”

Gaga originally stated that she wanted her perfume to small like “blood and semen.” When that was announced, Gaga told Kyle and Jackie O, Australian radio show hosts, “It was taken out of my own blood sample, so it’s a sense of having me on your skin. I wanted to extract sort of the feeling and sense of blood and semen from molecular structures, so that’s where [the rumors] came from. That is in the perfume, but it doesn’t smell like that. Actually, the perfume smells like an expensive hooker.” But that idea was abandoned. Instead, it smells like “tears of belladonna, crushed heart of tiger orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops.”

The packaging states, “It’s black like the soul of fame but invisible once airborne.” Gaga also shared, “My perfume was designed for women, but a lot of my gay friends wear it.”

The singer is also rumored to have landed the front page spot of the September 2012 issue of Vogue.  The perfume will be released in the fall.
