USA men’s national basketball team to begin training camps in Las Vegas

By Kelly Newson

The USA men’s basketball team is coming to Las Vegas, and starting July 6, all of the 2012 USA 12-man roster will be in attendance. The 2012 USA men’s national basketball team’s training camp will begin July 6 and end July 12. An exhibition game versus the Dominican National team will conclude training camp, which will take part at the Thomas and Mack Center. Tickets for this game are now on sale and priced at $30, $45, $65, $80 and $95 for plaza seats; balcony seats are $10 & $20, and all tickets can be purchased by calling 702-739-FANS or online at www.UNLVtickets.com. This matchup between the two teams will be each team’s first exhibition game between the two National teams and the third meeting ever between a USA team comprised of NBA players and a Dominican Republic National team. The first match-up between these two teams were back in 1999 at the FIBA Americas Championships, which the USA team won 107-71. The second time they played one another, the USA won again, 111-73. Looking at the past of these two teams, you can believe the USA men’s team will have an easy victory, but you never know in this game because anything can happen. So Vegas, lets head down to the Thomas and Mack Center on July 12 and cheer on our beloved USA men’s national basketball team as they begin preparations for the upcoming Olympics.
