After being caught having a fling with “Snow White and the Huntsman” married director Rupert Sanders, 41, Kristen Stewart, 22, is issuing a public apology for hurting her boyfriend and “Twilight” costar Robert Pattinson, 26.
“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected,” Stewart said in a statement Wed., according to People Magazine. “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
The actress was reportedly caught kissing Sanders July 17. “It seemed like they couldn’t get enough,” according to one photographer.
Sanders is married to model-actress Liberty Ross, 33, and have two children, ages 7 and 5. Ross, who played Stewart’s mother in “Snow White and the Huntsman,” tweeted “wow” hours before the scandal became public, according to E!Online.
Despite the accusations, Stewart’s team considers her actions a mere bad decision.
“She wasn’t having an affair with Rupert,” a source told People. “It was just a fleeting moment that shouldn’t have happened. She never meant to hurt anyone. She’s a good person who just made a bad choice.”
Stewart has been dating Pattinson since they first met three years ago on the set of “Twilight.”
