Las Vegas NV: GMC Suburban Strikes Light Pole 1 Reported Dead At Scene

On July 31, 2012 at approximately 10:00 a.m., a single vehicle traffic collision occurred on Boulder Highway south
of English Avenue. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate a 1995 GMC Suburban was traveling
southbound on Boulder Highway south of Tropicana Avenue. For unknown reasons, the GMC failed to maintain
its travel lane, veered to the left and drove into the gravel median. The GMC drove back into the roadway and
began driving southbound in the northbound travel lanes. The GMC struck a street light pole located on the
eastside of Boulder Highway, approximately 200 feet south of English Avenue. The driver was transported to St.
Rose De‐Lima hospital and pronounced dead by medical personnel. This may have been medically related and
the exact cause of death is pending examination by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. This collision remains
under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
