Blake Fielder-Civil, Amy Winehouse’ ex-husband fighting for his life

Blake Fielder-Civil, Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband of is reportedly fighting for his life after doing an excess of drugs and alcohol. The stylish Fielder-Civil was rushed to a hospital Friday morning in West Yorkshire, England, with multiple organ failure and placed in an induced coma.

The recovering drug addict’s girlfriend, Sarah Aspin, found him in bed Friday morning, choking on his own vomit, after he’d staggered home from a drinking binge the day before, according to MTV.

Though he’s in a coma Blake Fielder-Civil’s girlfriend is continuing to keep a bedside vigil and is convinced he’s starting to make a slight improvement.

“I’m praying he’ll survive, but I’m having to prepare myself that he may never wake up,” Aspin, mother of Civil-Fielder’s toddler son, told the Sun. Fielder-Civil, 30, has long battled drug addiction.

The 34-year-old Aspin met him in rehab. Speaking from his bedside she said: “He needs to come out of this, if not for me or himself then for Jack. Jack is only young but knows something is wrong. He has been calling for his dadda. I’m praying for him and would ask everybody to do the same. I know he is going to pull through – he keeps waking up.”

“I go down to the hospital every day – it’s heartbreaking to see Blake lying there. The doctors aren’t really giving us any indication of how he is doing.”

“He looks like he is getting there though, bit by bit. He hadn’t been taking heroin and he is not a big drinker so I think he may have been taking tablets and they don’t mix well with alcohol.”

“I just hope he realises that he can’t do this anymore. He needs to think of Jack. This has got to be a wake-up call for him. If this doesn’t act as a wake-up call for Blake then I don’t know what will.” And she revealed that the couple had discussed getting married last week – shortly before he staggered home after a drinking session and collapsed.
Civil-Fielder, who’d been released from jail recently after serving time for burglary, reportedly met with a probation officer before going drinking with a friend.

“He’s never really been a drinker, but when he got home with this friend, he was slurring his words and staggering — I thought he was on something,” Aspin told the Sun. “I was very angry because he’d been doing so well.”

“Terrible news about Blake this morning. Remember Amy loved him,” Mitch Winehouse, the late singer’s dad, tweeted Friday. “Let’s pray for his recovery.”

Winehouse, who granted a divorce from Fielder-Civil in 2009, died July 23, 2011, of accidental alcohol poisoning. Fielder-Civil was once quoted as saying he’d gotten the smoky-voiced singer into crack and heroin.

Miss Winehouse, who also struggled with drug addiction, was found dead on July 23 last year at her home in Camden, North London, aged just 27.

A coroner found she was more than five times the drink-drive limit and ruled the singer’s death was the result of drinking too much alcohol.

She told The Sun: “The doctors say they don’t know the prognosis. They said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection.”

Fielder-Civil’s friend, Yeya Jáuregui, said yesterday that he was still in a coma and urged his fans to “keep on praying”
