The couple tied the knot Saturday evening at a ceremony with friends and family outside Nashville.
Followill, who looked country-cool wearing Lucchese boots, and his bride worked with celebrity event planner Sharon Sacks to create a bash that matches their casual vibe.
According to a “People Magazine” source, “They had a great farm-to-table cuisine with all of their favorite things. It was down home and very real. It was very much true to their style.”
The marriage means all four members of the Followill family band are off the market. Older brothers Nathan and Caleb and cousin Matthew have already started families.
The 25-year-old Followill and 21-year-old Patterson were engaged last spring when the “Kings of Leon” rocker popped the question to the model last April after just a few months of dating – confirmed the news on his twitter just hours before the couple walked down the aisle on Saturday (29.09.12)
He wrote: ”Today, I get married. It’s the biggest step I’ve ever taken. I’ve dreamed about this day since I was a little girl.”
Martha also confirmed their nuptials were taking place. She tweeted: ”Marrying my best friend today. I’m the luckiest girl in the world.”
Earlier this week a source close to the couple revealed they were planning a low-key wedding.
The source said: ”They’re excited and a bit nervous. They’ve dreamed up a family affair with homespun and rustic details. Jared picked the perfect woman to settle down with.”
The bassist proposed in Nashville with a four-carat cushion-cut diamond, set on a diamond band, which he designed himself.
Jared’s brother and bandmate Nathan is currently expecting his first child with wife Jessie Baylin, while their other sibling Caleb – the group’s singer – and his wife Lily Aldridge welcomed daughter Dixie Pearl into the world in June.
Followill is getting back to work quickly. He’ll release his debut EP with his new side-project Smoke & Jackal on Oct. 16.
