COLLISION DETAILS:
On October 19, 2012 at approximately 7:01 p.m., an Auto / Motorcycle traffic collision occurred on South Boulder
Highway at Boulder Ranch Avenue. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate that the 2010 Ducati
was traveling southbound on Boulder Highway approaching Boulder Ranch Avenue. The 2008 Mercedes Benz
was turning left onto northbound Boulder Highway from a posted stop sign at eastbound Boulder Ranch Avenue.
The 2008 Mercedes Benz crossed in front of the path of the 2010 Ducati resulting in an impact. The rider and the
motorcycle struck the left side of the 2008 Mercedes Benz. The operator of the motorcycle was transported to
Sunrise Hospital by ambulance and was later pronounced dead by medical personnel. This was the 90th traffic
related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2012. The case remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident
Investigation Section.
