Brandy Norwood EngagedThe R&B singer and actress Brandy Norwood is engaged to music executive Ryan Press, a spokeswoman for the singer said on Thursday.

E! News has confirmed that 33-year-old singer Brandy Norwood is engaged to music executive Ryan Press.

“They are thrilled and happy and Brandy feels this is so right,” the outlet quoted an unnamed source as saying.
The singer’s spokesperson had no immediate comment.
“I keep hearing about a ring. People keep calling me, hinting to me about it, but I don’t know,” Brandy told Sister2Sister magazine in August. “I’m going to be patient and let it happen and just let it be … I guess it will happen when it’s the right time.” It turns out Christmas was the right time, as Press popped the question when the holiday season was in full swing. A source close to the couple tells Us Weekly that “they are thrilled and happy and Brandy feels this is so right.”

This will be the first marriage for the singer, who goes by the moniker Brandy. Press is an executive with music publisher Warner/Chappell Music. A date for the wedding has not been announced publicly.
Norwood, 33, has a 10-year-old daughter with her former boyfriend, music producer Robert Smith.

Norwood was previously in a relationship with Robert “Big Bert” Smith, a composer, record producer and songwriter. The “Moesha” star talked to the weekly magazine in August, and explained why she and Smith is such a perfect match.

“I had given up on love a long time ago. It just didn’t seem to work for me, so I was single for a very long time,” she told Us Weekly. “I stopped looking for love and then I ran into my boyfriend. He just loves me for who I am. I don’t have to camouflage anything for him or put on a mask. I can completely be myself and he loves me so much and I love him just the way he is, too.”

Norwood has starred in numerous television and films since the 1990s and is best known as the lead character in the popular television series “Moesha” from 1996-2001 on the now-defunct channel UPN.

She also scored a hit song in 1998 with “The Boy is Mine,” a collaboration with the singer Monica, which garnered the pair a Grammy award. The singer recently released her sixth studio album, “Two Eleven,” in October. The album debuted at No. 3 on the US Billboard 200 with the first three weeks of sales reaching 65,000 copies. It also debuted on top of the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums, largely thanks to the record’s single, “Put It Down,” which features Chris Brown. She also stars BET comedy “The Game” alongside Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall and plays the character Chardonnay in the show, which is a spin-off of the long running VC series “Grifriends.” Amount other things the singer is set to appear in Tyler Perry’s 2013 drama film, “What About Us,” Temptations: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor,” alongside Robbie Jones, Vanessa Williams and Kim Kardashian.
