COLLISION DETAILS:
On January 25, 2013, at approximately 12:06 PM, an Auto / Auto / Fixed Object traffic collision occurred in the parking lot of the Palermo Apartments at 5870 West Harmon Avenue. Witness statements and evidence at the scene indicate a 2011 Toyota Camry was traveling west through a parking lot when the operator failed to
maintain the travel portion of the roadway and impacted the rear of a parked and unoccupied 1995 Toyota
Camry. The 2011 Toyota continued forward and stopped when the front impacted a support structure for a
carport cover. The operator was transported to Spring Valley Hospital but was pronounced dead after arrival. It is unknown at this time if the operator of the Toyota died as a result of injuries from the collision or from a medical condition. The cause of death will be determined by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
