On January 24, 2013 at approximately 4:55 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Dispatch Call Center received reports of a robbery at a business located in the 7300 block of West Sahara.
A preliminary investigation into this incident indicates two suspects entered the business. One suspect armed with a handgun, threatened a store employee demanding cash from the register. A second employee, also armed with a handgun, confronted the suspects and gunfire was exchanged. The armed suspect was struck several times during the exchange, causing the suspects to flee from the scene.
Approximately 30 minutes later, a male identified as Antwjan McClelland was admitted to Sunrise
Hospital Trauma suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the arm. LVMPD Robbery Detectives responded to the hospital and as a result of the investigation, McClelland was taken into custody for his involvement during the robbery.
The second suspect was described as a black male adult, standing 5’9”, weighing 160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, a white baseball cap and white shoes. This suspect is currently outstanding and detectives believe a third person may be
involved.
McClelland was booked in absentia at the Clark County Detention Center where he faces charges for Attempted Murder with a Deadly Weapon, Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, three counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Burglary While in Possession of a Firearm.
