Gunfire and Death on Las Vegas Strip
In a scene not unlike a 1940’s gangster film, gunshots were fired between vehicles as they drove down Las Vegas Boulevard, better known as “the Strip”.
An SUV, believed to be a Range Rover had stopped at an intersection for a traffic signal. A Maserati pulled up to the same signal. Someone in the SUV opened fire on the Maserati. The driver of the Maserati sped off, the SUV in pursuit.
The Maserati collided with a taxi cab in the Flamingo Blvd. intersection. This triggered a chain of collisions. Fire swept through the taxi, and the two passengers inside were killed. The driver of the Maserati also died, and his passenger is being treated for gunshot wounds.
The incident began at 4:20 a.m. Police have no indication what might have caused the altercation. They are searching for the two occupants of the SUV.
