Parolee in Standoff With Police
Police are not releasing the name of a parolee who has locked himself in a motel room with an unidentified woman.
Police recognized stolen license plates on a vehicle in the parking lot of the Morgan Hill Inn Motel in Morgan Hill, California.
Police say they are in negotiations with the man, but have released no other details.
The motel has been evacuated, and a car wash across the street has been closed.
Monterey Road is completely shut down at Barrett and Cosmo Avenues, so drivers are being warned to avoid the area.
Police say there will be a press conference after 2:30 p.m.
