San Jose Wal-Mart Attacked by Car
Shoppers at a San Jose Wal-Mart were stunned to see a car crashing into the store. It didn’t end there. The driver exited his vehicle and began pummeling shoppers with a blunt object he recovered inside. The crowd piled on him, subduing him, and one tied him down with a belt before police arrived.
The incident happened around 11:15 Sunday according to Officer Albert Morales of the San Jose Police Department, who responded to the 911 call.
“The driver drove through the front door, immediately exited the vehicle and picked up a blunt object within the store and started attacking four customers, fiercely injuring one,” Morales said. Three other people were injured in the assault and were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.
One witness said he saw him driving around the lot several times before driving between some poles and into the store.
“At first I thought I may have down something to anger him while driving, ” said Sharon Kaye, a teacher from San Jose. “But then I realized he was out to get into the store.”
She was going to the store to buy potatoes when he side-swiped her SUV. When he circled the lot again, he headed straight for the front doors.
“I thought he was going to hit me again,” she said. “It was very scary.”
