Remember the old saying from when you were a kid, “I scream you scream, we all scream for ice cream”? Well, you don’t have to scream for ice cream today. All you have to do is saunter in to your local Ben & Jerry’s and ask for a free scoop of your favorite ice cream.
Today marks Ben & Jerry’s 34th Annual Free Cone Day. The famous ice cream company has been handing out free cones as a way to thank their customers since 1979.
Fans of the decadent treat crashed the website this morning, no doubt looking for their nearest location to fulfill their sweet tooth.
“‘It’s free, it’s fair, it’s everywhere,’ Dave Stever, the ice cream maker’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement.’” (latimes.com)
Not all Ben & Jerry’s are participating, so it is recommended that you call your local ice cream shop to determine if they are before you ask for your free scoop, or use the “Scoop Shop Locator” available on the website.
Ben & Jerry’s expects to give away more than a million scoops today in both cones and cups.
