Five Dead in Shootout, South of Seattle
Police were called to Federal Way, Washington, as gunfire was reported. They arrived at an apartment complex about 20 miles south of Seattle. They could hear the gunfire as they approached the location.
They saw two men lying on the ground, and as an officer attempted to assist one of the men, he reached for a gun, and the policeman shot him. The other man died as well.
In another section of the parking lot they found another deceased male. Searching the apartments themselves, they discovered the bodies of another man and a woman, in separate locations.
“When we arrived, there was a lot of gunfire already being fired,” said Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock.
Officers later learned that the incident was triggered by a domestic violence issue.
No officers were injured in the melee.
