A body found near the Mustang exit on Interstate 80 exit around 6:00 a.m. yesterday has been confirmed as linked to the four homicides in Fernley, Nevada. In total, there were five deaths yesterday for the area.
Fernley, Nevada, the sleepy bedroom community approximately 30 miles east of Reno, suffered an incredible blow last night when detectives confirmed four homicides in two separate homes with four dead.
Lyon County sheriff’s detectives have confirmed they are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman dead at each of the two residences; they are considering it a homicide investigation.
One of the homes, on Jessica Lane, has fire damage from arson. The other home is around the corner on Tamsen Road.
Fernley is a quiet town of fewer than 20,000 residents as of the 2010 census. It is home to the Amazon.com warehouse and is not far from the Fallon Air Force Base.
Fallon was once the center of some controversy over a children’s cancer cluster.
Local news stations will be covering the story with updated details as authorities provide information.
As of 10:25 p.m. last night, it was reported that an unnamed person has been detained in the crime, but no motive has been announced. Authorities have not yet released a cause of death.
Four agencies are now working together on the investigation: The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, the Nevada State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Lyon County Fire Department.

Fallon does not have an Air Force Base, it is a Naval Air Station.
Thank you for correcting me.
