Miley Cyrus Voted Number One on Maxim’s Top 100 Sexiest Women List

Starting in the year 2000, Maxim began their Top 100 list of “hot” women. The first number one was Canadian Estelle Warren way back then and not content with just coming up with a definitive list of the world’s sexiest women, the next year Maxim featured the youngest ever woman to grace the list; Jessica Alba. At age 20, her distinction has not been broken, only matched, by Miley’s number one slot in the 2013 Maxim’s Top 100 list of Sexiest Women.

Despite this international men’s magazine recent drops in circulation and their own cutback of issues from 12 to 10 per year, the Top 100 list is still extremely popular with it’s target demographic and with the nominees on the list.

According to the magazine, the reason that the former Hannah Montana “tweenie” made it to the top spot is because of the decision to rely on their recent online voting system. Started two years ago, it allowed the public to vote on who they thought should be on the list. The magazine’s executive editor Patrick Carone told FOX411 that, “Miley just annihilated [the competition].”

Carone went on to say that the fact that Miley was cute didn’t hurt and that the public watched her grow up via television and other forms of media. Which does actually have a sort of “naughty” connotation considering all the Jimmy Savile hysteria at the moment. Despite this Miley is and has been for sometime, newsworthy.

Whether she is ripping a strip off a too brusque fan or having a pop at the paparazzi, Miley is in the public eye a lot. Carone said that here you have a girl who, when she gets her hair cut, it’s big news in Japan and India, she is a global sensation.

Miley herself was so excited about topping the list that she actually tweeted her number one status a full five days before the magazine’s issue came out. She is probably excited that her campaign to be considered less a tween television star and singer and more of a femme fatale grownup sexy woman has reached fruition.

Part of her growing up campaign dealt with her shedding her Southern Baptist roots. She posed for what appeared to be a topless photo where she was wrapped in a sheet and was caught on camera smoking marijuana and later that same year cursing at a fan.

As proof of her “star status” Miley got her personal Gmail account hacked and several pictures of her in her underwear and in her swimsuit appeared on the internet; proving that her status was at least equal of other female stars who were targeted by hackers. Something that she also shares with previous Maxim number one Jessica Alba.

Dad Billy Ray Cyrus has spoken about his daughters search for herself via drugs and poor public displays saying that he’s saddened by it all. But considering that Miley made, at age 17, number 19 on the “Top 20 World’s Richest Female Singers Of All Time” list, with earnings of over $100 million in five years, which made her the youngest female artist on the list. Then in 2011, she was named number one on the Top 10 Richest Teens in Hollywood, with $120 million. It is not surprising that she feel the need to “act out” occasionally. Money buys a lot of opportunity.

But that’s not all. It also “buys” recognition. In 2007 Cyrus earned $18 million. In 2008 she earned $25 million and was ranked number 35 on Forbes magazine’s Celebrity 100 list. Parade magazine reported she was the richest teenage celebrity and that her franchise would be worth approximately $1 billion by the end of the year. In 2009 Forbes ranked her number 29 on the Celebrity 100 and reported that she had earned a total of $25 million. In 2010 Cyrus was ranked 13th on Forbes Celebrity 100, from earning $48 million between June 2009 to June 2010. She was the 4th highest earner under 30 years old and the youngest on the list. Between June 2010 and June 2011 Cyrus earned $54 million.

As the old adage says, “money is one of the two greatest aphrodisiacs in the world;” it goes without saying that with all that dough, Miley has got to be pretty powerful as well. So in addition to all the prior lists that Miley has been put on, it is apparent that Maxim’s list is the sexy icing on her cake.
