Walking Dead Actress Confesses to Sending Ricin Letter to Obama

Walking Dead actress arrested

According to the FBI Walking Dead actress Shannon Rogers Guess has been arrested and is accused of sending the ricin letter to President Obama as well as sending letters to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns. The 36 year-old Texan actress has, reportedly, confessed to the crime.

NBC News initially reported the arrest.

On April 16, 2013, an envelope that tested positive for ricin, which is a highly toxic protein from castor beans, was intercepted at the US Capitol’s off-site mail facility in Washington, D.C. According to reports, the envelope was addressed to the office of Mississippi Republican Senator Roger Wicker. On April 17, 2013, an envelope addressed to President of the United States Barack Obama also tested positive for ricin.

Both letters were mailed from Memphis, Tennessee. The letters included the phrases “No one wanted to listen to me before. There are still ‘Missing Pieces.’ Maybe I have your attention now even if that means someone must die. This must stop. To see a wrong and not expose it, is to become a silent partner to its continuance.” and “I am KC and I approve this message.”

A third letter was then mailed to a Mississippi judge, Lee County Justice Court Judge Sadie Holland, that was received and opened on April 10. The letter contained similar language and was sent for testing and it too was found to contain ricin.

Oddly enough FBI officials have said that the actress originally contacted the law enforcement agency to accuse her husband on sending the “poison penned” letters to the three individuals. Despite this fact, the Walking Dead actress has now confessed to sending the ricin letters to all three individuals as well as to President Obama.

Officials say the woman, Shannon Rogers Guess Richardson who is also known as Shannon Rogers Guess, initially called the FBI to claim that her husband, Nathaniel, sent the letters. But FBI investigators have concluded it was Guess who sent the letters and not her husband according to NBC News reports.

The actress has been married three times but her last marriage, since October 8, 2011 was to Nathan Richardson, a U.S. Army veteran who works as a mechanic in a military depot. This was the same year that Shannon donated bone marrow to save a young girl with leukemia.

It was in May 2013, while the actress was going through divorce proceedings with Richardson that Guess called the police and made the accusation that Richardson had mailed ricin letters to the politicians.

But to date, Nathan Richardson has not been charged with any crime, he told the FBI investigators that Guess set him up. This apparently led investigators to find that Shannon (Rogers Guess) Richardson had mailed the ricin herself, in an effort to implicate her estranged husband.

Guess has five sons, ranging in age from 4 to 19 none of which are Richardson’s. Guess is reported to be pregnant with another child. According to her oldest son, 19 year-old Branden Guess, his mother was paranoid that she was being poisoned with ricin by her current husband, Richardson.

The 36 year-old actress was arrested and charged with “mailing a threatening letter to President Barack Obama.” Shannon Guess confessed on June 8, 2013, that she had mailed the three letters, knowing they contained ricin.

The actress lives in New Boston, Texas. Guess’s resume on IMDb shows that she has worked fairly regularly as an actress in film, television and stage.

The Walking Dead and Vampire Diaries actress has confessed that it was she who sent the letters to President Obama and two others that contained ricin. She has not, presumably, said exactly why she felt the need to do so.
