An improvised bomb exploded in a blast in Cagayan De Oro killing six people today and wounding 28 others. The device was set off in a popular restaurant area of town at Kyla’s Bistro about 11:30 pm Friday. Sources say 44 year old Roldan Lagbas was among the dead. Lagbas was a member of the Oriental Provincial Board. The identities of the five other victims were not yet known however some of the injured were doctors in town for a conference.
The scene is still being investigated and all bodies have not yet been removed. Vice Mayor Ian Acenas referred to the scene as the worst he had ever seen “Heads holed and brains splattered. The sight is so horrible” Acenas was quoted as saying.
