Counterfeit Concert Tickets
About This Crime
Several cases are being reported of counterfeit tickets being purchased over the internet. Tickets are being offered for sale over social media sites or online classified sites. After the victim has made the transaction they discover the tickets are counterfeit. The counterfeit tickets reported have included tickets to sporting events and major music concerts scheduled for this upcoming weekend.
What you can do:
– Only buy tickets from a reputable ticket broker or from the venue itself
– Do not buy tickets off the street
– Be aware of who you are buying from, verify identification
– Report suspicious activity immediately
– Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible
