
A passenger train from Paris derailed on its way to Limoges, trapping several people inside. Local officials report “many casualties.” The train was south of Paris at Bretigny-sur-Orge when it crashed into the station platform at 16:00 GMT. Emergency crews are on the scene.
Update: The train was carrying 385 passengers. So far, seven are confirmed dead. The time of the crash was 5:15 p.m. (1515 GMT). The accident happened 12 miles (20 kilometers) outside of Paris.
