Narrative: A 57-year-old grandmother was pushing a stroller containing an infant and holding the hand of her 2-year-old granddaughter, who was walking at her side, when a 1999 Chrysler Concord went through the Stop Sign, according to witnesses. The grandmother attempted to move the infant and her 2-year-old granddaughter out of the vehicle’s path when it struck the 2-year-old child, along with construction horses and and two parked cars. The 27-year-old male offender attempted to flee from the vehicle on foot, but was quickly placed into custody by an Englewood District Beat car responding to the scene. The 2-year-old girl was pronounced at Comers Childrens Hospital shortly after 7 a.m.
