Five US military personnel aboard an MH-60S Knighthawk Helicopter plunged into the Red Sea Sunday, September 22. The US Naval Forces Central Command, stated that the helicopter was part of the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 6. At the time of the crash, they were working with the USS William P. Lawrence, a guided-missile destroyer.
The statement reported that the crash did not seem to be caused by any kind of hostile activity. The status of the five people on board is still being established and the incident is under investigation.
