Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler left the game against the Washington Redskins with a groin injury. The Bears lost to the Redskins 45-41.
Houston Texans running back Arian Foster injured a hamstring after 11 yards on four carries. He left the game in the first quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Quarterback Sam Bradford was taken from the field with an injury to his left leg against the Caroline Panthers in the fourth quarter. The Rams were down 30-15 when Bradford left the game. Bradford completed 21 of 30 passes for 255 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. Backup Kellen Clemens took the field in his place and no information on the extent of Bradford’s injury is available at this time. The Rams lost to the Panthers 30-15.
St Louis Rams’ defensive lineman Chris Long was ejected from the game today versus the Carolina Panthers in the third quarter for his part in a fight on the field. Apparently, Long punched another player during the scrap. There are no indications of fines or sanctions from the NFL or from the Rams as yet.
Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Nick Foles was pulled from the game against the Dallas Cowboys for a possible head injury. Michael Vick was inactive with a hamstring injury again this week, so third string Matt Barkley took the field with Philly down 17-3.
Foles completed only 11 of 29 passes for 80 yards, gained 25 yards rushing, but was unable to score any touchdowns. He seemed to have some issues with mobility due a leg injury, and this may have contributed to his poor performance. The Eagles did not score until the fourth quarter, and then only managed a field goal.
Barkley was intercepted twice, one by Cowboys defensive lineman Sean Lee, the last one with only 1:28 remaining in the game. The Cowboys proceeded to kneel down to win the game 17-3.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver James Jones is inactive against the Cleveland Browns. Jones missed practice all week with a knee injury.
Doug Martin, running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers left the game after a hard hit to the shoulder near the goal line. Martin left the game in the fourth quarter after carried for 47 yards and one catch for seven yards.

Cincinnati Bengals corner back Leon Hall left the game against the Detroit Lions after an Achilles injury in the first quarter. Hall assisted on one tackle before being knocked out of the game.
King Dunlap, left tackle for the San Diego Chargers, had to leave the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after a concussion relapse. He left in the first half and did not return, ruled out for the remainder of the game. Dunlap’s suffered the concussion during the Sept. 22 game against the Titans. He returned today after missing two games. No word yet on how long he may be out with the relapse.
New England Patriots defensive back Aqib Talib is inactive today after a hip injury from last week. Talib has been a dominant player for the Patriots’ defense with four interceptions.
Wide receiver Danny Amendola is also inactive after a concussion last week against the saints. Amendola had just returned the week before from a groin injury that sidelined him from Week 2.
Tight end Rob Gronkowski finally returned to active play today but the Patriots lost to the Jets in overtime 30-27. This is the Patriots second loss of the year.
Even though Buffalo Bills quarterback Thad Lewis injured his foot during practice this week, he is slated to start against the Dolphins. Recently acquired backup Matt Flynn is inactive, so Lewis’ backup is rookie Jeff Tuel. Bills beat the Dolphins 23-21.
Atlanta Falcons took the field today without wide receiver Roddy White, out with an ankle injury and running back Steven Jackson, with a hamstring injury. Neither is active today against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite their absence, Atlanta beat Tampa Bay today 31-23.
New York Jets’ Santonio Holmes was out today with a hamstring injury. When asked if the media was disrupting his rehab, Holmes replied,” I had to get taken off the table to…do interviews.”
This week’s injuries add to the already long list of NFL players sidelined by on-field clashes. Hopefully none of these injuries is season-ending, and these players can return to the game sooner rather than later.
