Google Nexus 5 Instant Sell-Out in India

Google NexusThe Google Nexus 5 was released in India and sold out instantly. Within hours, the Google Play store had the “we are out of stock” message, leaving customers waiting to find out more. This was very similar to the events after the release of the Nexus 4 in the United States last year. However, there are still hopes that there will handsets available in stores around the country.

The Nexus 5 is the latest new handset from the technology giant but is not the only one released in the country. India also has the LTE version of the Nexus 7 at 32GB storage and the Wi-Fi version with 16GB and 32GB storage.

India saw similar problems with the Nexus 4, just like the United States. The stock was so low that it sold out within hours and wasn’t available in stores for long. While there are reports that the supply is not likely to meet the demand, it will not likely be as bad as the 2012 incident.

Google reports that the best way to buy the Nexus 5 and 7 is through the Play store. This is because there will be more stock available—although still not enough to meet the high demand. The Nexus 5 will also be more expensive in stores. Online you will find the price of around $463.46 for the 16GB version. That will be $479.44 in stores. The difference is due to retail costs.

Part of the reason for the Google Nexus 5 being an instant sell-out in India is due to the value. The technology on the device is superior to that of LG’s own G2 and the Samsung Galaxy Note III but the cost is lower. Google has a lower profit margin for this device. It also has the most up to date Android software, KitKat, which is completely unmodified unlike some of the other devices around. This makes the devices much faster and more desirable, since the Android software is specifically designed to work on them. The downside is that the software and hardware may not be as good as the devices that modify the operating system.

The Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 are also the cheapest Smartphone and tablet device across the board. The latest Apple iPhone 5S is on sale for $669.65 for its 16GB option. It’s clear why the Google Nexus is so popular.

Google is being a little confusing with the “out of stock” notice. It’s most up to date message has been that it is out of inventory but in stock. It’s confusing for consumers but the good news is that it is also available on the LG store, which has partnered with the tech giant for this phone.

It’s not surprising that the Google Nexus 5 has been sold out instantly in India. It is not only a better model technologically but is much cheaper than any other Smartphone on the market. Google running out of inventory or stock is a natural thing. Those who do want the device can get it from the LG website or in stores, where it is available from today.
