Lea Michele has more to look forward to in 2014. While it has just been five months since the death of her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, she told The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he would want her to “live her life”. She intends to do just that.
2014 is set to be an exciting year for the Glee star. The year marks the 100th anniversary, which the cast will start filming soon. At the moment, most of the original cast members will be present for the episode. Kristen Chenoweth and Jonathon Groff have not officially committed as of yet, but Michele is trying to talk them into it. She says it would be great to have the whole cast together again.
The 100th episode will also include some of the more popular songs performed by the cast. These songs have been chosen by the fans of the show, and will be recorded fresh by the singers. Michele admits that she is worried about the prospect of doing some of the numbers, such as the mash-up of Singing in the Rain and Umbrella, stating that she was “so cold” during the filming of it.
Fans will find out which songs will be added to the 100th episode in March.
It is five months since the death of Monteith and Michele told The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she is taking it one day at a time. She is not forgetting about her late-boyfriend, but Michele is not putting her life on hold by looking forward to much more in 2014.
When the cast and creators of Glee learned of the actor’s death, Ryan Murphy, Glee co-creator, made it clear that filming would not start until Michele was ready. It did not take long for Michele to decide that she had to get back to work. She told DeGeneres that it was no easier than being at home the whole time. It was better to be around the people she loved, and that was the rest of the crew and cast.
To keep Monteith’s memory alive, Michele is trying her best. She wants to do something positive with her life.
Part of moving on has led to the production of her first studio album, full of original songs. Louder is currently available to pre-order and fans can listen to a snippet of her first track Cannonball. Other songs on the album include Empty Handed and Don’t Let Go.
The lyrics of Cannonball are very fitting for the 26-year-old actress and singer. She sings about enduring pain and finding strength afterwards, something that she has had to come to terms with since August.
The album will be officially released on March 4, 2014.
Monteith helped the Glee singer with her album. She would listen to her tracks and make notes on how to improve them. He listened to almost all the songs on the finished album, according to Michele. She will definitely have some fond memories when listening back.
Michele definitely has much to look forward to in 2014. All she can do is take it a day at a time and find strength in her loss, something she clearly wants to do.
