Entertainment will never be the same due to the heavy metal group Motley Crue saying they are done as a band and have stated they will never get back together after they break up in 2015. The members of the band members have even went as far as to sign something called a “cessation of touring agreement” during a press conference they held in Los Angeles. It will be considered legal and go into official effect at the end of next year.
Motley Crue has been together for nearly 35 years. Even though they have told of their retirement, they are planning on going out with a bang. They plan on having an enormous farewell tour before they end it all. Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars made their announcement at the majorly promoted press session on Tuesday. Neil explained that the band wanted to go out while still on top. They want to leave a legacy behind, and so they will not be doing any other concerts after this tour is over. It is the final one for the band. Sixx added that the tour was going to be a major celebration for the band that it was going to be a really great tour. They want to perform 72 concerts before they wind it up for good.
The group has planned over 60 tour dates, so it is going to be definitely one big drawn-out goodbye for the band that gave the world such hits as Shout at the Devil and Girls Girls Girls. Motley Crue first became a band back in 1981, and they later ended up becoming famous worldwide due to the popularity of MTV. They released nine albums during the time they have been together and the most recent reports on the group say that there is a tenth album to be released sometime this year. It is rumored to be a tribute album.
The band says the tour will kick off on July 2, 2014 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. To celebrate the announcement of their last tour, the band is planning on appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday night and CBS This Morning Wednesday morning. They stated that they would be playing their greatest hits during tour along with some surprises.
However, they have revealed that their opening act will be rocker Alice Cooper. He spoke some nice words toward the band when he said that Motley has always gone up on stage with the attitude to blow the audience away and we are going to do that out there. Motley Crue and Alice Cooper on stage is a match made in Armageddon.
Tickets for the final tour will go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 31, 2014. There will also be some pre-sales that will start earlier in the week. If anyone is interested in going, better purchase tickets quickly because they are sure to go quickly. Entertainment will never be the same after Motley Crue is done with this final tour. They are a band unlike any other and one not to be missed while on tour.
