Reports are stemming in of a reported shooting on the campus of Widener University in Chester, PA. Officials are advising a student was shot near the Schwartz Athletic Center Monday evening and has been rushed to the hospital. The condition of the student has not been released, reportedly the family of the victim is also at the hospital. The co-ed university is currently on lock down until further notice.
The university resides in the center of Chester which reportedly has one of the highest levels of crimes, per neighborhood reports. Little information has been released, including the possible description of the shooter, who is still at large. The university released a statement on their website advising all students to remain indoors until notified by security.
