Syria talks finally pay off, after U.N. mediator Lakhdar Brahimi convinced the opposition to release women and children from the invaded city of Homs.
Although the Syrian government and the opposition are talking through Brahimi, UN considers that Syria talks are finally starting to pay off. Civilians could be set free tomorrow; however, the government is requiring a list of civilian names first.
“So far, I think that the process is continuing, but it’s very early,” Brahimi said. More discussions are expected but the U.N. is optimistic regarding Syria talks and believes the discussions are finally starting to pay off.
