Nowadays, video games have turned from a pastime into a mainstream fixture, but even if studies show that people hardly ever finish a game, there are at least five of them that every legit gamer should have played and ultimately completed. The developers’ problem is that no matter how gripping a video game is, people don’t finish it anymore because of the lack of time, the abundance of games and the growth of online multiplayer. If not even an awarded game like “Red Dead Redemption” can convince legit gamers to complete what they’ve started, what other examples can do that?
Among the best five video games that every legit gamer should have played and finished are many examples with a strong gameplay, but according to Raptr, which tracks over 23 million gaming sessions, only 10 percent of avid gamers complete well-known games like “Red Dead Redemption.”
Keith Fuller, production contractor for Activision stated that “a blanket expectation is that 90 percent of players who start your game will never see the end of it unless they watch a clip on YouTube.” By and large, only one in ten people who started playing “Red Dead Redemption” finished it. However, every legit gamer should have played and finished at least some of these five video games.
According to most reviews, “Dark Souls” is not a game that offer its gamers a cheap scare. but a terrifying experience with an enormous world which is set the annihilate the player. The third-person dungeon crawler comes with responsive combat and the massive realm is only separated by distinct regions which test the gamer’s skills, patience and dedication.
Final Fantasy VII
“Final Fantasy” remains a giant among video games and people all over the world have been playing it for years; some gamers even utter that “Final Fantasy VII” remains one of the greatest Japanese role-playing games ever developed, but it is ultimately a matter of taste. The renowned sword, the tale of love, loss and happy ending are all ingredients which turn this video game into a memorable experience. Moreover, legit gamers are reportedly able to hum the Gold Saucer theme anytime.
Grand Theft Auto 3
According to true gamers, “Grand Theft Auto” is one of the best video games ever, but the third part impresses through unique missions that range from dropping people off in a taxi to disposing of a body in a trash compactor. The huge world turns this game into a must-play that every legit gamer should have completed.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Any list of the best video games that every gamer should have played would be incomplete without “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” which marks one of Bethesda’s greatest fantasy worlds. Although gamers admitted that bugs are lurking in the background with every step the character makes, the secret areas, hidden quests and other details make this video game impossible to finish, yet extremely gripping.
Irrespective of its flaws, legit gamers utter in unison that becoming true means spending at least 100 hours playing “Skyrim.”
It would be impossible not to remember the famous line “Wake up, Mr. Freeman. Wake up and smell the ashes,” but legit gamers know that “Half-Life 2” delivers a better story than the original game, rumors say. The game’s sense of fluidity knows almost no rival, thus making Valve’s creation one of the best video games ever created.
Of course games like “Super Mario World,” “The Last of Us,” “Battlefield,” “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” and others are all great creations which have endured the test of time, but the undeniable truth is that nowadays people have less time to play games, which means that a 10-hour experience will be more successful than something which is considered a masterpiece by developers, but takes more time to complete. Nonetheless, there are still at least five video games that every gamer should have played and completed before calling himself “legit.”
